  • Temperature: Understanding Hotness and Coldness
The hotness or coldness of an object is referred to as temperature. Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in an object. The higher the temperature, the more kinetic energy the particles have, and the faster they are moving. Temperature is measured in degrees Celsius (°C), degrees Fahrenheit (°F), or kelvins (K).
