  • Redwood Branch Height: Understanding Redwood Growth & Epicormic Branches
Redwoods have epicormic branches that are capable of growing from dormant buds on the trunk of the tree, often in response to damage or stress, and these branches can be found at various heights from the ground. In general, the lowest branches of redwoods are typically located many feet above the ground, and in some cases, the first branches may be found as high as 100 feet (30 meters) or more above the ground.
