  • Key Characteristics of Living Organisms: Organization & Homeostasis
    1. Organization: Living things are highly organized structures, both internally and externally. This organization includes the arrangement of cells, tissues, organs, and systems, as well as the complex chemical and molecular interactions that take place within them.

    2. Homeostasis: Living things have the ability to maintain a relatively stable internal environment, despite changes in the external environment. This process, known as homeostasis, involves a variety of regulatory mechanisms that work together to keep critical parameters within a narrow range. For example, living things regulate their body temperature, blood pH, and glucose levels within certain limits.
