2. Blaming others: Once you've ignored the science, you can start blaming others for the problem. This could mean pointing the finger at developing countries, who are responsible for a relatively small proportion of historical emissions, or at China, which is currently the world's largest emitter. Blaming others allows you to avoid taking responsibility for your own country's actions, and to continue polluting without feeling guilty.
3. Delaying action: Another effective way to not solve the climate change problem is to delay taking action. This means setting unrealistic goals for reducing emissions, or coming up with excuses for why it's not possible to make changes right away. Delaying action allows you to continue emitting greenhouse gases, and makes it more difficult to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
4. Supporting fossil fuels: One of the most damaging things you can do to the climate is to support the continued use of fossil fuels. This means investing in new oil and gas projects, or lobbying for policies that make it more difficult for renewable energy to compete. Supporting fossil fuels keeps us addicted to the very fuels that are causing the climate crisis, and makes it impossible to transition to a clean energy future.
5. Giving up hope: Finally, the most effective way to not solve the climate change problem is to give up hope. This means believing that it's too late to make a difference, or that there's nothing you can do to help. Giving up hope is the opposite of what we need to do to solve the climate crisis. We need to stay positive and focused on the goal of a clean energy future.
