    Sea otters are renowned for their unique tool-using abilities. One clever strategy observed in sea otters involves the use of rocks to smash open the hard shells of mollusks, such as oysters. As part of their foraging behavior, sea otters carry rocks from one foraging location to another where mollusks are available. The otters select suitable rocks, grasp them in their forepaws, and maneuver them over their prey. They strategically position the rocks on top of the mollusks and forcefully smash the shells against a solid surface to access the delectable meat inside. Their skill in rock handling demonstrates impressive problem-solving capabilities and adaptation to a resource-rich coastal environment.
