  • Bird Smell: Do Birds Have a Sense of Smell?
Most birds do not have a very good sense of smell. Their olfactory bulbs, which are responsible for processing smells, are relatively small compared to those of other animals. This means that they cannot detect as many different scents as other animals can. However, some birds, such as the kiwi and the vulture, have a more developed sense of smell. These birds use their sense of smell to find food, such as insects and carrion.
