Abstract:
Understanding public perceptions of climate change is crucial in shaping effective policies and encouraging individual action to mitigate its impacts. This study aims to investigate how the perceived closeness of climate change influences public opinions, attitudes, and behaviors related to the issue. By exploring the factors that contribute to the perception of closeness, we gain insights into the psychological mechanisms underlying climate change beliefs and actions. The study combines quantitative and qualitative research methods, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions, to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between perceived closeness and various aspects of climate change engagement. The findings have implications for designing targeted communication strategies and interventions that can effectively bridge the gap between scientific understanding and public perception, leading to more informed decision-making and responsible actions to address climate change.
