Peacock spiders are renowned for their elaborate courtship displays. Male peacock spiders engage in complex dance routines, featuring colorful displays and intricate footwork. While multi-modal courtship involving both visual and vibratory signals has been demonstrated, it remains unknown whether females specifically prefer this multi-modal approach. Our research aimed to answer this question through controlled experiments, investigating the preferences of female peacock spiders for different courtship signals. The results contribute to our understanding of female choice and the evolution of male courtship behaviors in these fascinating creatures.
