Harnessing the memory and display features of a scientific calculator unlocks its full potential, allowing you to store intermediate results, perform multi‑step calculations, and quickly retrieve data. The “=” key typically shows results, but the memory functions let you keep track of values without cluttering the display.

Step 1 – Locate the Memory Keys

Look for buttons labeled with a capital “M”. Common keys include M+ (add to memory), Min (input multiple values), and MR (recall). Many models support up to ten memory slots.

Step 2 – Add a Value to Memory (M+)

With a number on screen, press M+ to store it. Repeating the operation will sequentially fill the memory slots.

Step 3 – Input Multiple Numbers (Min)

Press Min after each value; the calculator will automatically place each number in the next available memory slot.

Step 4 – Retrieve Stored Values (MR)

Press MR to display the current memory entry. Hold SHIFT while pressing MR to cycle through the stored numbers.
