  • Paper Folding: Understanding Layers and Area After Multiple Folds
    Here's how to figure this out:

    * Starting Point: You begin with one square.

    * Folding in Half: Each time you fold the paper in half, you double the number of layers.

    * 5 Folds: So after 5 folds, you'll have 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 32 layers.

    However, you don't get 32 squares. You'll still have just one square of a much smaller size. Folding the paper just divides the original square into smaller and smaller squares, all connected within the folded paper.
