  • Pounds to Gallons: Water Volume Conversion Explained
This is a bit tricky because we need to know the temperature of the water.

    Here's why:

    * Water expands when it gets warmer. So a pound of water at a higher temperature will take up more space than a pound of water at a lower temperature.

    Here are some approximations:

    * At room temperature (around 70°F), one pound of water is approximately 0.119 gallons.

    * At 39.2°F (the temperature where water is most dense), one pound of water is slightly closer to 0.120 gallons.

Important note: These are just approximations. For more precise conversions, you'd need to specify the temperature of the water.
