  • Millimeter to Inch Conversion: Understanding the Scale
A millimeter (mm) is a very small unit of measurement, and it's not something you'll find marked on a standard ruler. Here's why:

    * Rulers are typically marked in inches and fractions of inches.

    * A millimeter is much smaller than an inch. There are 25.4 millimeters in one inch!

To get a sense of size:

    * If you have a standard ruler, the smallest markings you'll likely see are 1/16th of an inch.

    * A millimeter is about the thickness of a dime.

If you need to measure in millimeters, you'll need a metric ruler or a measuring tool that includes millimeter markings.
