  • Understanding Coefficients in Mathematical Formulas
The large numbers in front of some formulas are called coefficients. They represent the number of times a term appears in an expression. For example, in the formula 3x + 2y, the coefficient of x is 3 and the coefficient of y is 2. Coefficients can be positive or negative.
