  • Sports Betting Market Expected to Reach $155 Billion by 2025 - University of Nevada Study
Sports gambling is expected to become an even bigger player in the coming years, according to a new study from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The study, which was published in the journal "Gaming Law Review," found that the sports gambling industry is expected to grow by 35% over the next five years, reaching a total market size of $155 billion by 2025.

The study's authors attribute this growth to a number of factors, including the increasing legalization of sports gambling in the United States, the rise of online sports betting, and the growing popularity of sports in general.

"The legalization of sports gambling in the United States is the biggest driver of this growth," said study co-author Daniel Wallach. "Since the Supreme Court struck down the federal ban on sports betting in 2018, more than 30 states have legalized some form of sports gambling. This has opened up a huge new market for sports betting operators."

The study also found that the rise of online sports betting is another major factor driving the growth of the sports gambling industry.

"Online sports betting is more convenient than traditional brick-and-mortar sportsbooks," said Wallach. "You can bet on sports from anywhere in the world, and you don't have to worry about lines or crowds. This has made sports betting more accessible to a wider range of people."

The study's authors also believe that the growing popularity of sports in general is contributing to the growth of the sports gambling industry.

"The popularity of sports is at an all-time high," said Wallach. "More people are watching sports and more people are interested in betting on sports. This is creating a huge demand for sports betting services."

The study's authors conclude that the sports gambling industry is poised for continued growth in the coming years.

"The sports gambling industry is a juggernaut," said Wallach. "It is growing at an incredible pace and there is no end in sight. This is a great time to be in the sports gambling industry."
