    When teachers talk too much, it can have several negative effects on students' learning and engagement:

    1. Diminished Attention: When teachers dominate classroom discussions, they leave little space for students to actively participate, ask questions, or express their thoughts. This monotonous stream of information can cause students' minds to wander and attention spans to dwindle.

    2. Reduced Comprehension: When teachers lecture non-stop, students may struggle to comprehend the information presented. Continuous talking without providing opportunities for processing or clarification leaves gaps in understanding, making it harder for students to retain the knowledge being taught.

    3. Lack of Engagement: Prolonged teacher-centered lectures can lead to disinterest and disengagement. Students lose motivation and involvement when they are passive recipients of information rather than actively involved in the learning process.

    4. Limited Critical Thinking: When students are not actively involved in the learning process, they have fewer chances to develop critical thinking skills. Teacher-centered lectures provide little room for students to analyze, evaluate, or apply their understanding.

    5. Feeling Disrespected: Students may feel undervalued when teachers disregard their contributions or do not provide a platform for their ideas. This can lower their self-esteem and affect their motivation to learn.

    6. Increased Behavioral Issues: Excessive teacher talking can lead to restlessness and boredom in students, which can manifest in behavioral problems such as fidgeting, talking out of turn, or disruptive behavior.

    7. Less Enjoyment: Students are less likely to enjoy the learning process when they feel like they are not actively participating or making meaningful contributions to the class discussion.

    To enhance learning and create an engaging classroom environment, teachers should strive for a balanced approach that involves interactive discussions, group work, hands-on activities, and opportunities for students to express their own thoughts and ideas.
