Here's how to find it:
1. Locate the iliac crest: This is the bony ridge along the top of your hip bone.
2. Find the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS): This is the bony bump on the front of your hip bone, just below your iliac crest.
3. Locate the greater trochanter: This is the bony bump on the outside of your hip.
4. Draw an imaginary line from the ASIS to the greater trochanter.
5. Draw another imaginary line perpendicular to the first line, starting at the iliac crest.
6. The injection site is located in the area where these two lines intersect, in the upper outer quadrant of the buttock.
This site is considered a safe and reliable site for intramuscular injections, as it is away from major nerves and blood vessels.
