  • Coquina Rock: What It Is & How It's Formed
The rock that consists mostly of pieces of seashells is called coquina.

Coquina is a type of sedimentary rock formed from the accumulation and cementation of shell fragments. These fragments can be from various marine organisms, like clams, snails, and other shellfish. The shells are typically broken and loosely cemented together by calcium carbonate, forming a porous and often crumbly rock.
