  • Hills vs. Mountains: Defining Landform Height
A landform that rises to peaks above 200 feet is called a hill.

    Here's why:

    * Hills are defined as landforms that rise above the surrounding area, but not as high as mountains. While there's no strict definition of the height of a hill, they are generally considered to be under 2,000 feet.

    * Mountains, on the other hand, are significantly higher than hills, typically exceeding 2,000 feet.

So, a landform with a peak above 200 feet could be considered either a hill or a mountain, depending on its overall height and elevation difference from the surrounding area.
