  • Cinder Cone Volcanoes: Formation, Characteristics & Eruptions
A volcano built almost entirely from ejected lava fragments is called a cinder cone volcano.

    Here's why:

    * Cinder cones are formed by the accumulation of tephra (loose pyroclastic material), mainly cinder-sized fragments, ejected from a vent during relatively short, explosive eruptions.

    * Lava flows may occur from cinder cones, but they are usually small and short-lived compared to the amount of tephra erupted.

Let me know if you'd like to know more about different types of volcanoes!
