Alfred Wegener did not use
floral fossils as evidence for his theory of continental drift. He primarily used
fossil evidence, particularly
fossil ferns and reptiles, found on different continents that are now separated by oceans. These fossils indicated that these landmasses were once connected, as the same species were found on continents that are currently far apart.
While floral fossils can be used to support the theory of continental drift, they were not the primary evidence Wegener relied upon.
