* Okefenokee Swamp: Located in southeastern Georgia, this swamp is significantly larger in area than the Great Dismal Swamp and is considered the largest swamp in the southeastern United States. It's known for its diverse ecosystem, including alligators, black bears, and a variety of bird species.
While other swamps exist in the northeast, these two are the most significant in terms of size and ecological importance.
