  • Earthquake-Prone Zones: Understanding Seismic Activity Worldwide
There is no place on Earth that is completely earthquake-free.

Earthquakes are caused by the movement of tectonic plates, and these plates cover the entire planet. However, some areas are significantly less prone to earthquakes than others.

Here are some regions considered relatively stable:

    * Central and Eastern parts of North America: While not entirely immune, these regions experience significantly fewer earthquakes compared to the West Coast.

    * Central and Eastern parts of South America: Similar to North America, these regions are far from the active plate boundaries.

    * Central parts of Asia: While some parts of Asia experience major earthquakes, the central parts, far from the Himalayas and other active fault lines, are relatively stable.

    * Interior of Australia: Australia is located on the stable Australian Plate, making its interior relatively earthquake-free.

It's crucial to understand that even in these regions, earthquakes can still occur, albeit with lower frequency and intensity.

Remember: No place on Earth is completely safe from earthquakes.
