  • Natural Reservoirs: Types, Formation, and Examples
Here are three different kinds of natural reservoirs:

    1. Groundwater Reservoirs: These are underground layers of rock or soil that are saturated with water. The water is held within the pores and spaces of the rock or soil. Examples include aquifers, which are permeable rock formations that can store and transmit groundwater.

    2. Surface Water Reservoirs: These are bodies of water that are found on the Earth's surface, such as lakes, rivers, oceans, and wetlands. These reservoirs hold water that has been collected from precipitation, runoff, and groundwater seepage.

    3. Atmospheric Reservoirs: The atmosphere itself acts as a reservoir for water in the form of vapor. Water evaporates from the surface, rises into the atmosphere, and condenses into clouds, ultimately leading to precipitation.
