  • Earth's Strongest Magnetic Field: Location & Anomalies
    Earth's magnetic field is strongest at the magnetic poles.

    While the geographic poles are where the Earth's axis of rotation intersects the surface, the magnetic poles are where the magnetic field lines are most concentrated. These poles are not fixed and can shift over time.

    However, the magnetic field strength is also affected by other factors, such as the presence of magnetic anomalies. For example, the South Atlantic Anomaly is a region where the magnetic field is particularly weak, allowing more cosmic radiation to reach Earth's surface.
