  • Sandstone Streak Color: What to Expect & Why It Doesn't Exist
Sandstone doesn't have a streak color.

Streak color is the color of the mineral's powder, obtained by rubbing it against a streak plate (a piece of unglazed porcelain).

Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed of sand-sized grains of minerals, often quartz and feldspar. It doesn't have a single mineral composition, so it doesn't have a consistent streak.

You can, however, determine the color of the sandstone itself, which can vary greatly depending on the mineral composition and impurities.
