  • Kaaba Rock Composition: Sedimentary Basalt Explained
The Kaaba is built from sedimentary rock. Specifically, it's made from a type of black basalt that was originally formed from volcanic activity and then eroded and transported to its current location.

Here's why it's not igneous or metamorphic:

    * Igneous rocks form from the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. While the basalt originated from volcanic activity, it has been weathered and transported, changing its structure.

    * Metamorphic rocks form when existing rocks are transformed by heat, pressure, or chemical reactions. The Kaaba's basalt doesn't show signs of these transformations.

The basalt used in the Kaaba is a sedimentary rock because it's made from fragments of other rocks that were transported and deposited in a different location.
