    A great example of a rock made up of one mineral is limestone. Limestone is primarily composed of the mineral calcite, which is a calcium carbonate (CaCO3).

    While limestone can sometimes contain small amounts of other minerals, calcite is the dominant component, making it a good example of a monomineralic rock.
