  • Earth's Mantle Thickness: Composition & Layers
The thickness of the Earth's mantle is roughly 2,900 kilometers (1,800 miles).

However, it's important to note that the mantle isn't a uniform layer. It's divided into two main parts:

    * Upper mantle: Extends from the base of the crust (about 30 km deep) to a depth of about 660 km.

    * Lower mantle: Stretches from 660 km to the core-mantle boundary at about 2,900 km.

The thickness of the mantle can vary slightly depending on location, with some areas being slightly thicker or thinner than others.
