Oceanic crust is denser than continental crust because it contains more of these three elements:

* Iron (Fe)

* Magnesium (Mg)

* Calcium (Ca)

These elements are heavier than the elements that make up continental crust, such as silicon (Si), aluminum (Al), and potassium (K). This difference in composition is largely due to the processes by which each type of crust is formed.
