  • Earth's Layers: Understanding the Crust, Mantle, & More
The four main parts of the Earth are:

    1. Crust: The outermost, solid layer of the Earth. It's like the Earth's skin and is where we live. It's made of different types of rock and is divided into oceanic crust (under the oceans) and continental crust (under the continents).

    2. Mantle: The thickest layer of the Earth, located beneath the crust. It's mostly solid rock, but it's very hot and can flow slowly over long periods. This movement is what causes tectonic plates to shift and volcanoes to erupt.

    3. Outer Core: A liquid layer of mostly iron and nickel. It's extremely hot and generates the Earth's magnetic field.

    4. Inner Core: The Earth's center, made of solid iron and nickel. Even though it's solid, it's incredibly hot due to pressure from the surrounding layers.

So, the Earth is like a giant onion with four layers! 🧅🌎
