  • What Are Bricks Made Of? Understanding Brick Composition
Bricks are not a type of rock. They are a manufactured material.

    Here's why:

    * Igneous rocks are formed from the cooling and solidification of magma or lava.

    * Metamorphic rocks are formed when existing rocks are transformed by heat, pressure, or chemical reactions.

    * Sedimentary rocks are formed from the accumulation and cementation of sediments.

Bricks are made by firing a mixture of clay and other materials in a kiln. The heat causes the clay to harden and form a solid block. This process does not involve any of the natural geological processes that form rocks.
