  • Earth's Crust Thickness: Where is it Thin?
    The thinnest layer of the Earth's crust can be found under the ocean, specifically under the oceanic ridges. This area is where new crust is being formed, and it's only about 5-10 kilometers thick.

    In contrast, the continental crust (under landmasses) is typically much thicker, ranging from 30-70 kilometers.
