  • Himalayan Formation: The Collision of Indian and Eurasian Plates
    The two plates responsible for the creation of the Himalayas are the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate.

    The Indian Plate is moving northward and colliding with the Eurasian Plate. This collision has been happening for millions of years and continues to this day, causing the land to buckle and fold upwards, creating the massive Himalayan mountain range.
