  • Kola Superdeep Borehole: The Deepest Man-Made Point on Earth
The deepest oil well on land is the Kola Superdeep Borehole, located in the Kola Peninsula of Russia. It reached a depth of 12,262 meters (40,230 feet), making it the deepest artificial point on Earth.

However, it's important to note that:

    * The Kola Superdeep Borehole was a scientific project, not an oil well. It was drilled to study the Earth's crust, not for oil extraction.

    * There are other oil wells that are deeper than the Kola Superdeep Borehole, but these are located offshore. The Sakhalin-I Odoptu OP-11 well in the Sea of Okhotsk, Russia, reaches a depth of 12,345 meters (40,500 feet).

Therefore, while the Kola Superdeep Borehole is the deepest artificial point on land, it's not the deepest oil well. The deepest oil wells are found offshore.
