  • Mount Chimborazo: Earth's Farthest Peak from the Core - Explained
The mountain peak farthest from the center of the Earth is Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador.

While Mount Everest is the highest above sea level, the Earth is not perfectly spherical. It bulges at the equator. Chimborazo, located closer to the equator, benefits from this bulge, giving it a greater distance from the Earth's center than Everest.
