  • Doldrums & Horse Latitudes: Location, Causes, and Characteristics
The doldrums and horse latitudes are both regions associated with the equatorial and subtropical zones.

    * The doldrums, also known as the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), is a belt of low pressure that circles the Earth near the equator.

    * The horse latitudes, on the other hand, are located at about 30 degrees north and south of the equator, within the subtropical high-pressure zones.

While both regions are characterized by weak winds, the specific causes and characteristics of each are distinct.
