The light areas on the Moon are called highlands. While they do contain some of the oldest rocks on the Moon, they are not the oldest analyzed so far.

The oldest rocks analyzed on the Moon come from a specific region called the lunar highlands, but more specifically, the South Pole-Aitken basin. This basin, formed by a massive impact billions of years ago, exposed some of the oldest lunar crustal material.

It's important to remember that "oldest" is a relative term when we talk about the Moon. Even the "oldest" rocks are still billions of years old!
