  • Earth's Layers: A Comprehensive Guide to Its Structure
Not exactly. The Earth is a complex structure with different layers.

While it's true that the Earth has a solid, rocky core, it's also made up of:

    * Mantle: A thick layer of mostly solid rock, but also contains molten rock (magma).

    * Crust: The outermost layer, thin and made of solid rock. This is what we live on.

    * Outer Core: A liquid layer made mostly of iron and nickel.

    * Inner Core: A solid ball of iron and nickel, incredibly hot and under immense pressure.

So, while the Earth has a lot of rock, it's not just one big solid piece. It's a dynamic system with many different components!
