  • Mountain Ranges of North America: Exploring the Western Edge
There are no mountains directly west of North America. The Pacific Ocean borders North America to the west.

However, there are mountain ranges within North America that extend along the western edge of the continent, including:

    * The Rocky Mountains: These mountains run through western Canada and the United States, extending from British Columbia to New Mexico.

    * The Sierra Nevada: These mountains run through California, with the highest peak being Mount Whitney.

    * The Cascade Range: These mountains stretch from northern California to British Columbia, and are known for their volcanic peaks, including Mount Rainier.

    * The Coast Mountains: These mountains run along the coast of British Columbia.

    * The Alaska Range: This range contains the highest peak in North America, Denali.

So, while there aren't mountains directly west of North America, the western part of the continent is home to several impressive mountain ranges.
