  • Mountain Ranges Without Volcanoes: A Geological Overview
It's tricky to say a mountain range has *absolutely no* volcanoes, as even seemingly "non-volcanic" ranges can have dormant or extinct volcanoes. However, there are a few mountain ranges that are generally considered non-volcanic:

    * The Appalachian Mountains: These mountains in the eastern United States were formed by the collision of tectonic plates millions of years ago. They are considered geologically stable and don't have active volcanoes.

    * The Ural Mountains: These mountains in Russia are also very old and were formed by tectonic activity. They are not known for volcanic activity.

    * The Scandinavian Mountains: This mountain range in Scandinavia is mainly formed from granites and other igneous rocks that are not volcanic in origin.

It's important to remember that even in these mountain ranges, there could be dormant or extinct volcanoes that have not been identified or are simply too ancient to be noticeable.
