The Campi Flegrei is a large volcanic caldera located just west of Naples, Italy. It's a complex and active volcanic area, with a history of eruptions that have shaped the surrounding landscape.

While Vesuvius itself is not directly on top of the Campi Flegrei hot spot, it's close enough that the hot spot's influence is a significant factor in Vesuvius's volcanic activity.
