    The two main conditions needed for a glacier to form are:

    1. Sufficient snowfall: There must be enough snowfall to accumulate over time, building up a thick layer of snow.

    2. Cold temperatures: The temperature must be consistently below freezing (0°C or 32°F) for the snow to compact and turn into ice. This prevents the snow from melting.

    These two conditions, combined with a slight slope for the snow to accumulate on, are the key ingredients for glacier formation.
