  • Long Bones: Location and Key Examples in the Human Skeleton
    Long bones are found in the appendicular skeleton, which is the portion of the skeleton that includes the limbs and their attachments. This means they are found in:

    * Arms:

    * Humerus: Upper arm bone.

    * Radius: Forearm bone on the thumb side.

    * Ulna: Forearm bone on the pinky side.

    * Legs:

    * Femur: Thigh bone.

    * Tibia: Shin bone.

    * Fibula: Smaller bone in the lower leg.

    * Hands and Feet:

    * Metacarpals: Bones of the hand.

    * Metatarsals: Bones of the foot.

    * Phalanges: Finger and toe bones.

    Note: While long bones are primarily found in the limbs, the clavicle (collarbone) is also considered a long bone, even though it's in the axial skeleton.
