The Equator goes through the group of large islands in Asia known as the Greater Sunda Islands.

These islands include:

* Sumatra

* Java

* Borneo

* Celebes (Sulawesi)

* Timor

The Equator also passes through a small portion of New Guinea, which is geographically considered part of Oceania, but politically split between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
