  • Understanding Latitude: Low Latitudes Between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn
The areas between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn are called low latitudes.

    Here's why:

    * Latitude: Latitude lines run horizontally around the Earth, measuring distance north or south of the equator.

    * Equator: The equator is at 0 degrees latitude.

    * Tropics: The Tropic of Cancer (23.5 degrees North) and the Tropic of Capricorn (23.5 degrees South) mark the farthest points from the equator where the sun can be directly overhead.

    * High Latitudes: Areas closer to the North and South Poles (above 66.5 degrees North and South) are considered high latitudes.

    * Low Latitudes: Areas closer to the equator (between the Tropics and the equator) are considered low latitudes.

Therefore, the areas between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn are located within the low latitudes.
