  • Australia's Volcanic Secret: Discover Heard Island's Active Volcano
    The only part of Australia with an active volcano is Heard Island and McDonald Islands, a remote group of islands located in the southern Indian Ocean, about 4,100 km southwest of Perth.

    While mainland Australia hasn't experienced volcanic activity in millions of years, Heard Island has a volcano named Big Ben, which last erupted in 1993.
