    * Grain arrangement: The way grains are organized within the rock, such as randomly arranged, layered, or foliated.

    3. Structure:

    * Joints: Fractures in the bedrock that are not accompanied by displacement. They can be planar, curved, or irregular.

    * Faults: Fractures in the bedrock where there has been significant displacement along the fracture plane.

    * Foliation: A layered structure in metamorphic rocks, caused by the pressure and heat during their formation.

    * Bedding: Layering in sedimentary rocks, formed as different sediment layers are deposited.

    4. Hardness:

    * Bedrock color: Can vary widely depending on the minerals present and their oxidation state. Common colors include white, gray, brown, red, black, and green.

    6. Weathering:

    * Chemical weathering: The breakdown of bedrock by chemical reactions, such as oxidation, hydrolysis, and dissolution.

    * Physical weathering: The breakdown of bedrock by physical forces, such as frost wedging, root growth, and abrasion.

    7. Other characteristics:

    * Density: The mass of the bedrock per unit volume.

    * Strength: The ability of the bedrock to resist deformation or fracture.

    * Elasticity: The ability of the bedrock to deform under stress and return to its original shape when the stress is removed.

    These physical characteristics of bedrock are essential for understanding its behavior and its role in various geological processes, including soil formation, groundwater flow, and the construction of infrastructure.
