  • Africa's Largest Deserts: Sahara & Namib - Size & Location
The two largest deserts in Africa are:

    1. The Sahara Desert: It is the largest hot desert in the world, covering a vast area of over 9.2 million square kilometers (3.6 million square miles). It stretches across North Africa, encompassing parts of Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Sudan, Tunisia, and Western Sahara.

    2. The Namib Desert: It is located along the Atlantic coast of southwestern Africa, spanning Namibia, Angola, and South Africa. Though much smaller than the Sahara, it's still a significant desert covering around 80,900 square kilometers (31,200 square miles).
