  • Marine Fossils on Mountains: Science vs. the Flood Myth
The presence of marine fossils on mountaintops is a fascinating geological phenomenon, but it doesn't necessarily confirm the biblical Deluge. While the story of Noah's Ark is a compelling narrative, the scientific evidence overwhelmingly points to a different explanation for these fossils: plate tectonics.

    Here's why:

    * Plate Tectonics: The Earth's crust is made up of large plates that move slowly over time. These plates can collide, causing one to slide beneath the other (subduction). As mountains are formed through this process, marine sediments and fossils embedded within the rock layers are pushed upwards.

    * Erosion and Deposition: Over millions of years, erosion and deposition of sediments can also contribute to the movement of fossils. Ocean sediments are deposited over time, and as the sea level rises and falls, these sediments can be uplifted and eventually exposed as mountains form.

    * Fossil Record: The fossil record shows a gradual change in life forms over millions of years, which contradicts the idea of a sudden, global flood that wiped out everything except the animals on Noah's Ark.

    In summary:

While the presence of marine fossils on mountaintops might seem like a strong argument for a global flood, the scientific evidence overwhelmingly points to plate tectonics and other natural processes. It's important to approach these geological formations with a scientific lens and consider all the available evidence.
