    The part of the Earth composed of rocks and soil is called the lithosphere.

    The lithosphere is the rigid outer layer of the Earth, consisting of the crust and the uppermost part of the mantle. It's broken into large pieces called tectonic plates, which move and interact, causing earthquakes and volcanic activity.
